Fire Safety at Home

October 28, 2021No commentsRichard

You have the basics down pat, right?

  • Smoke Alarms
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Escape Plan
  • Meeting Place

Training Makes it all Work

When was the last time you trained your family on the plan?

One guy I know wasn’t above waking his family up at 2:00 a.m. to see how they responded to a smoke detector going off. Maybe that is more than necessary, but it is important to make sure everyone in your home knows what to do when they need to flee the home in an emergency.

Talk it over, practice and sound the alarm sometime when it is not expected (maybe even in the early morning hours). That’s how you’ll know how well your plan works.

What emergency action plan do you have in place? If the answer is “none”, then I encourage you to comment below and I’d be happy to share one!
